Évora: A Roman Temple and a Chapel of Bones
A UNESCO city of Roman temples and bone chapels, at an unhurried Alentejo pace

Leave Lisbon behind and enjoy a scenic hour-and-a-half drive into the heart of the Alentejo to discover Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage city filled with history, culture and timeless charm.
We begin at the Roman Temple, one of Portugal's best-preserved Roman monuments. From there we visit the Cathedral, exploring the interior and climbing to the rooftop for beautiful views over the city. Then a stroll through Praça do Giraldo, the lively heart of Évora, before stepping inside the unforgettable Chapel of Bones - one of the most unique and thought-provoking places in the country.
As we wander Évora's medieval streets, I share the stories, the local history and the details that are easy to miss on your own. Before heading back, there is also the possibility of visiting an Alentejo winery, for a taste of its wines and some of the region's finest local specialties.
And because the Alentejo is also the capital of cork, we can add a visit to a small family-owned cork factory, to see how the bark of the cork oak becomes one of Portugal's quietest crafts.
This is a private tour, guided in your language - English, Portuguese, Spanish, Romanian or French.
