The city's heart, at your pace - on foot, or with a private luxury vehicle and driver

Lisbon: Every Street Has a Story

Lisbon is best read at street level - and every street has a story. We wander from the grand riverside square through the elegant downtown rebuilt after the great earthquake, pause at the Carmo Convent with its roof open to the sky since 1755, catch the rooftops and the castle from a miradouro, and lose ourselves where the city is oldest: Alfama and Mouraria, the tangled quarters where fado was born. Along the way, the small things that make it Lisbon - the tiles, the trams, the calçada under your feet, the café where the poets sat.

How much of it, and how, is entirely up to you. The classic version is a half-day walk through the city's heart. If you'd rather take it easier - travelling with kids, with older parents, or simply on holiday - there's a lighter route with gentler climbs and no rush. If you want to go deeper, we extend the walk and keep exploring. And when Lisbon's hills sound better from a seat, we add a private luxury vehicle with a professional driver: a half day that pairs the essential walk with the viewpoints and neighbourhoods a car reaches best, or a full day to take in the whole of the city.

Whichever shape your Lisbon takes, it is a private tour, guided in your language - English, Portuguese, Spanish, Romanian or French - and built around what interests you, not a fixed script.
